My
Approach

At Simply Social Skills, I believe in a personalized approach to social development. Every individual is unique—and so are their social strengths, challenges, and goals. That’s why I take the time to understand each client’s specific needs, whether they come with a formal diagnosis or not.

Social skills training can benefit anyone. While I’ve supported clients with diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, anxiety, Down Syndrome, and developmental or processing delays, I’ve also worked with many children who simply need a little extra help navigating friendships, fitting in at school, or building confidence in social settings.

In fact, many families reach out not because of a diagnosis, but because their child is looking for:

  • More opportunities to connect with peers

  • Less screen time and more meaningful interaction

  • Support from a professional in learning social "tips and tricks"

  • A space to feel accepted and build self-confidence

Group Format

In-person social groups typically meet weekly (unless otherwise noted) and are thoughtfully grouped by age and skill level. Sessions are semi-structured, focusing on:

  • Conversation and play skills

  • Cooperative games to encourage peer engagement

  • Creative, fun activities to practice new skills

The goal? To help each child feel supported, successful, and connected—while having fun.

I'm a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with over seven years of experience leading social skills group therapy sessions for individuals with special needs. I hold a Master of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy, a Bachelor of Science in Criminology, and am also a Certified Life Coach. My passion has always been rooted in working with—and for—people.

Throughout my career, I’ve supported individuals with a wide range of diagnoses including autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, Down Syndrome, and developmental or processing delays.

On a personal note, I’m a proud parent of a college student and have been married for nearly 24 years. I bring both professional knowledge and life experience to my work, offering families not just clinical support—but also understanding and empathy.

I’m also a dedicated world traveler! Having explored more than 30 countries and lived outside the U.S., I deeply value cultural diversity and pride myself on maintaining cultural sensitivity in every interaction.

Above all, I approach each client and family with genuine respect and care. Helping families grow, connect, and achieve their goals is not just what I do—it’s what I love.  And yes, Jack Skellington (aka Jack Jack) loves to hang out as well-he's a frequent visitor to sessions!
